In this episode of Costellazione, Italian artist Gionata OZMO (b. 1975), who is best known for his murals and street art practice dating from the 1990s to present, discusses his exploration of historical references in this work, Nessus and Dejanira plus Koko the Clown (2018). These references range from the Renaissance to underground animation and graphic advertising, and to his experimentation with the found object as a critical strategy. Frequently discussed as a street artist, OZMO instead situates his own practice for Costellazione in different terms, through close study of this work. Artist website: https://www.ozmo.it/.
